Every S Series roof system, arched frame and specialist aluminium kit you order from Sheerline Bespoke starts out as a raw aluminium billet at Sheerline’s vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Derbyshire. Raw aluminium in, finished kits out, with full quality control at every stage in between for outstanding levels of service.
Where the Sheerline factory is and what it does
The facility that sits behind every Sheerline and Sheerline Bespoke product is operated by Garnalex, the UK aluminium extruder founded in 2018 by Roger Hartshorn, who has almost 50 years of fenestration industry experience. Designed and refurbished to the highest standards, the 100,000 sq ft factory is the most modern aluminium facility in the UK, from which fabricators and installers receive what they need, when they need it.
Inside the extrusion process
At the heart of the operation is the extrusion press which allows production to respond quickly to order volumes without cutting corners on dimensional consistency. The state-of-the-art, energy efficient SMS HybrEx press delivers energy savings of up to 55% compared to traditional presses. Our patented construction method vastly reduces fabrication waste, while the thermal efficiency built into every product helps move towards a greener future for all.
How vertical integration protects quality
The difference between Garnalex and many other aluminium systems houses is that they produce aluminium extrusions, while others buy in from external extruders. All Sheerline components are manufactured at this fully vertically integrated, state-of-the-art production facility, which gives full oversight and control over the quality processes.
The powder coating plant
All aluminium profiles are powder coated in-house at the Derbyshire facility, which has been recognised for its quality assurance processes. The practical result for fabricators ordering from Sheerline Bespoke is predictable, repeatable colour across an entire project thanks to full control of the supply chain.
Made in Britain
The Derbyshire factory supports British manufacturing, with every major component of a Sheerline window or door made in Britain. The same principle applies across the S Series roof systems supplied through Sheerline Bespoke.
How the factory supports Sheerline Bespoke customers
Sheerline Bespoke was established to give fabricators a single point of contact for complex or niche products that would otherwise disrupt their core production. Every product in the Sheerline Bespoke S Series is manufactured at the Derbyshire site, including its core range of installation-ready kits that support quick installation on site.
These include the award-winning S1 Roof Lantern, which features Thermlock® technology for exceptional thermal performance and energy savings, the S2 Conservatory Roof System, and the new S3 Architectural Glazed Roof featuring a streamlined design with 40% fewer parts than a traditional single pitch roof.
Bespoke arched frames
Sheerline Bespoke’s arched and shaped aluminium frames are delivered by a TIM-ING profile bending machine. The 3D camera integration means the machine can self-correct in real time, automating for the required curvature, efficiency, high precision, structural integrity, and ensuring repeatable quality across every frame, so the desired final shape is achieved.

By prior appointment, prospects and customers can visit the factory to see how our products are made and the standards adhered to. They can also visit both Sheerline and Sheerline Bespoke showrooms. The purpose-built showroom supports customers whilst showcasing the full Sheerline Bespoke range of products, including the S Series plus arched frames, SheerVents® and other roof-related products. It gives customers the opportunity to experience products up close and see the quality and engineering excellence that underpins them.
